David Wright Wow! I've been on the Subscription for well over a year and have listened right through everything on that (and am re-listeing), but only just found this album through buying the Full Discography. This album is simply wonderful from start to finish. I'll have to point it out to some flautists I know. Favourite track? I don't have one yet. My first impression is that I'll not be able to choose one!. :D

Carsten Pieper Ambient but nevertheless melodic open spaces for bass, sax/flute and loop. Sit back, relax, enjoy! Favorite track: For The Love Of Open Spaces.

Released in 2003, this is a collection of improvised-in-the-studio duets by Steve Lawson (bass and looping) and Theo Travis (alto flute, soprano sax and looping) - I think it's true that everything on the album was a first-take - we tried recreating some of the improvs at the time, but the first versions were always the best...

Very little of it sounds improvised - this was the peak of a particularly fertile time in music for me, and working with Theo was an amazing experience. Please see www.theotravis.com for more on his music...

Have a listen, and if you like it, you can grab the download, paying what you think it's worth...
