Throughout Steve’s music output there have been LONG tracks. Sometimes these have been long-form textural, ambient soundscapes to literally act as sonic backdrop or soundtrack to art exhibitions, meditation. Sometimes though the longer tracks come from a place where there is just “more to say” musically and sonically. Each track is a sentence being formed as it is being spoken - the end is not known in advance.

In the earlier “Best of…” compilations, Tom and I excluded the long tracks, as we would have had to “sacrifice” several shorter tracks to accommodate the longer releases. So Tom has compiled these playlists to explicitly showcase the longer tracks and releases. As with all Steve’s music, these span a wide range of musical styles, sometimes within the single track. Like having a luxurious bath, I suggest you set aside some time to relax into these sounds, either as a whole album, or even just individually. Give up some time to enjoy the experience in its fullness…
