about

Released in 2003, this is a collection of improvised-in-the-studio duets by Steve Lawson (bass and looping) and Theo Travis (alto flute, soprano sax and looping) - I think it's true that everything on the album was a first-take - we tried recreating some of the improvs at the time, but the first versions were always the best...

Very little of it sounds improvised - this was the peak of a particularly fertile time in music for me, and working with Theo was an amazing experience. Please see www.theotravis.com for more on his music...

Have a listen, and if you like it, you can grab the download, paying what you think it's worth...

The UK's most celebrated solo bassist, here with lots of looped/layered solo albums, & collaborations, most notably with genius singer Lobelia. Dig in deep, there's a lot to discover.

Pretty much all the music here is 'Pay What You Think It's Worth', so listen as much as you like, & do what it says on the tin...

As the website strap-line goes, it's the soundtrack to the day you wish you'd had.
