about

So, this is what the inside of my head sounds like right now. All kinds of things swirling around, good and bad, creative and confusing, global and deeply personal, liberating and constraining. Things that invite patience and things that inspire action. The beginning of things and the end of things, sometimes both at the same time. Birmingham is currently entering its second wave of the pandemic, and once again the government response is woeful inadequate and deeply confusing. So life in our lil' Lawson bubble here is actually something to be deeply grateful for, but all around us is a maelstrom of insanity.

The rhythm came from listening to a whole load of Janet Jackson recently (if you haven’t revisited Control and Rhythm Nation lately, give them a listen, truly extraordinary pop records) the rest is all that other stuff jumbled up and musickified.
