TICKET: Steve Lawson & Andy Edwards In Birmingham! 26/3/17

from Steve Lawson

Ticket

Steve Lawson, the UK's leading solo bassist, has been working with legendary drummer Andy Edwards (Robert Plant, Frost*, IQ, Magenta, Kiama, Ley Lines) for 5 years - collaborating with Jem Godfrey, Bryan Corbett, Phi Yaan-Zek & Julie Slick, they've forged a unique and exciting approach to improvising as an 'extended rhythm section' - both musicians taking their instruments into uncharted territory and extending the conventional sound palette with electronics and adventurous techniques.

This is their first duo gig in over 4 years, and promises to be a unique musical experience, drawing on their shared love of jazz, progressive music, fusion, electronica and ambient musics.

Kidderminster-based solo bassist James Chatfield will open the show as special guest - Chatfield is rapidly making a name for himself as a live performer and regular busker across the country, causing many a double-take as listeners realise that those beautiful sounds are just coming from one 5 string bass guitar.

All tickets include a download of the track The Aeros Of Tuolumne from Ley Lines II by Steve, Andy and Phi Yaan-Zek. phiyaan-zek.bandcamp.com/album/ley-lines-ii

Includes unlimited streaming of The Aeros Of Tuolumne via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.
